We are pleased to relaunch the Ki Community Update newsletter to keep you informed on what is happening at Ki. Since our last edition of the newsletter, the COVID-19 pandemic has emerged as a threat to global health. Using data to promote global health is even more important now than ever.
In late September, Ki hosted a webinar to report on the preliminary results of the stunting rally to the data contributors whose data was included in the analysis. Conducted by an analysis team at Berkeley in coordination with members of the foundation’s MNCH D&T team, the rally combined a total of 31 studies with data on almost 90,000 children.
This edition of the Ki newsletter is especially focused on India. Almost half the malnourished children in the world live on the subcontinent, as do a disproportionate number of the innovators thinking about how to improve global health and nutrition. We are thrilled that Ki is forming partnerships with Indian organizations to help catalyze data science approaches to problem-solving in the country.
